Abstract
This systematic review focuses on experimental studies conducted in K-12, including research on flipped learning approaches from peer-reviewed journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus up until 2023. The study followed the PRISMA guidelines. Most of the studies examined compared the traditional classroom model with the flipped learning model. The studies have shown that flipped learning has positive effects on academic achievement, motivation, engagement, technology literacy, metacognitive writing awareness, and metacognitive thinking skills. In most studies, videos were predominantly used outside the classroom, while supporting materials included presentations, forums, quizzes, infographics, e-books, and exercises. In the classroom, bridge activities and collaborative activities were incorporated. The study offers recommendations and discusses the challenges of implementing flipped learning in K-12, providing valuable insights for educators and policymakers.
