Abstract
Okullar varoluşları itibarı ile etik ikilem durumlarının sıklıkla ortaya çıktığı ortamlardır. Etik ikilem durumları sonucu ortaya çıkan karmaşalar okul ortamında her yöndeki iletişime zarar verebileceğinden, okullarda enerji kaybına, verim düşüşüne yol açabileceğinden bu ortamlarda yaşanan etik ikilem durumlarının incelenmesi önem taşımaktadır.
Schools are environments where ethical dilemma situations often arise due to their existence. It is important to examine these ethical dilemma situations in these environments because the confusion caused by ethical dilemma situations can damage all kinds of communication in the school environment, lead to energy loss and yield decrease in schools. In this direction, it is aimed to reveal the ethical dilemma situations experienced by teachers working in different types of schools in the research and the solutions they have chosen for these ethical dilemma situations. A total of 21 teachers including 7 elementary school, 7 middle school, 7 high school teachers working in public schools constitute the study group determined by objective sampling in the research in the phenomenology pattern in which a qualitative research method is used. The semi-structured interview form provided access to data related to the ethical dilemmas experienced by teachers and their solutions, and the collected data were analyzed by content analysis. The data of dilemmas obtained from open-ended questions were analyzed and interp- reted under 4 categories, and the data of solutions were analyzed under 7 categories. When the opinions of teachers were examined, it was determined that the category where teachers had the most ethical dilemmas in all types of schools, including elementary, middle and high schools, was ethical dilemmas related to students; they took into account the principles of jus- tice, student benefit and equality more when solving these ethical dilemmas. In addition, it was found that elementary and high school teachers in the same category had more dilemmas than middle school teachers.
