Abstract
Kafa (Kefe) which is in Crimea had fallen under the hegemony of Ottoman Empire in the period of Mehmet the Conqueror in 1475 and had stayed 308 years under the Ottoman until by the occupation of Russia. Many schools and madrasah had been founded in this period. The students who had the first education in these institutions had gone to the other centers of scholarship in the Ottoman territory for high education. They had engaged in services of religion and state in different positions of the empire after finishing their education. In additon to this, especially of these who belonged to the class of ilmiyyah had also labored with the compilation both in their hometowns and in the locations they went. Some of these compilations have stood as printed and most of them as manuscripts in different libraries in Turkey. As for some of them, there is a possibility for them had got loss in Kafa (Kefe) which had fallen into ruin after the Russian occupation. Today, there are some people and work based academic researches done about the authors from Kafa. But there is no research about the science of tafsir. In this article, it is aimed to make a contribution to the legacy of the exegesis of the Ottoman period by making a study in this area which is thought to be a virgin.
