In this study, a need-determination study was conducted for the Solfeggio-Dictation-Theory course conducted in the Music and Ballet Secondary Schools of the Higher Education Institutions by taking the opinions of the instrument teachers. In this study, which was designed as a case study, a questionnaire, the data collection process of which was completed on 28 May 2017, was applied and document analysis was carried out in order to get the opinions of teachers. The collected data were transformed into findings by descriptive and content analysis. In the conclusion part prepared according to the findings, the purpose, content and teaching-learning process of the Solfeggio-Dictation-Theory course were determined. According to this result, the objectives of the Solfeggio-Dictation-Theory course can be listed as follows: Developing musical phrasing skills and musicality, Developing the sense of rhythm and the ability to read notes, Gaining the habit of using metronome, Teaching important works in literature (including Turkish composers), Raising awareness of intonation, Deciphering and hearing. The content of the solfeggio-dictation-theory course should cover the following topics: intervals, tonal scales, chromatic and modal scales, three- and four-voice chords and their cycles, chord connections and modulation. The content of the course should be based on the works in the literature and should contain all the features (dynamics, articulations, tonality, chords, rhythmic features, form, etc.) of those works. In addition to these results, it is suggested that the works that the learners study in the instrument lessons should be added to the content of the Solfeggio-Dictation-Theory course. The results of the teaching-learning process are; This process should be shaped by focusing on the skill of reading and understanding the notes, educational games should be included, activities should be organized in which students can use their instruments, and every theoretical subject should be applied. Dictation studies should be studied gradually, in a process where absolute hearing is aimed at the learner. In addition, dictation exercises should focus on the ability to not only hear what is being played, but also to notice the wrong. Singing studies should be done with the beat of the orchestra conductor.
