Ar-Ge Birimlerinde Görevli Öğretmenlerin Eğitim Araştırmalarına Yönelik Tutumları, Bilimsel Araştırma ve Araştırmacı Öğretmen Kavramlarına İlişkin Metaforik Algıları

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the attitudes of the teachers working in the Research and Development units of national education directorates towards educational research and their metaphorical perception of the notions like scientific research and teacher-researchers; and to identify the relation among those teachers according to their genders, educational backgrounds, seniorities in teaching and in the Research and Development unit and their fields of teaching. A combined pattern consisting of both qualitative and quantitative approaches, 'Integration Pattern', was used during the research. While identifying the attitudes towards scientific research, the data was collected using a scale and the perceptions of the scientific research and teacher-researcher notions were determined using metaphors. The target population of the study is the teachers working in the Research and Development units of national education directorates. The sample group consists of the 26 provinces in the statistical regions of the State Institute of Statistic (DİE) that were adapted to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS). The number of teachers in the target group of study was recorded as 291, while the number of teachers in the sample group was 184. The results of the study showed that the teachers working in the Research and Development units have positive attitude towards educational research; very positive attitude towards the necessity and practicality of educational research; and that they highly value educational research. It was also found that the metaphor that the teachers working in Research and Development units use most often for scientific research is 'light'; and that they regard scientific research as a guide that shows people the right way in their lives; and that the metaphor they use most often for teacher-researchers is 'bee'; and that the most prominent aspect of teacher-researchers in their minds is 'being curious'. In the final part of the study, it was suggested that the positive attitude of the teachers working in the Research and Development units of national education directorates towards educational research should be taken advantage of and it should be used as a means to establish an effective communication between national education directorates and universities.Bu araştırmanın amacı, milli eğitim müdürlükleri araştırma ve geliştirme (AR-GE) birimlerinde görevli öğretmenlerin eğitim araştırmalarına yönelik tutumlarını ve bilimsel araştırma, araştırmacı öğretmen kavramlarına yönelik metaforik algılarını inceleyerek cinsiyet, öğrenim durumu, mesleki kıdem, AR-GE biriminde çalışma süresi, mezuniyet alanı ve branş değişkenlerine göre aralarındaki ilişkiyi belirlemektir. Araştırmada hem nicel hem de nitel yaklaşımlardan oluşan karma desenlerden 'birleştirme deseni' kullanılmıştır. Bilimsel araştırmaya yönelik tutumlarının belirlenmesinde veriler 'Eğitim Araştırmalarına Yönelik Öğretmen Tutum Ölçeği' ile toplanmış, bilimsel araştırma ve araştırmacı öğretmen kavramlarına ilişkin algılar ise metaforlar yoluyla tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın evreni il milli eğitim müdürlükleri AR-GE birimlerinde görevli öğretmenlerdir. Örneklem grubu olarak Avrupa Birliği Bölgesel İstatistik Sistemine (NUTS) uyarlanarak oluşturulmuş, bilimsel veri ve bulgularla bilim çevrelerince kabul edilmiş Türkiye'deki tüm bölgelerin karakterisrik özelliklerini yansıttığı kabul edilen DİE İstatistik bölgelerindeki 26 ildir. Çalışma evreni olarak ele alınan söz konusu illerin toplam personel sayısı 291 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Örneklemde araştırmaya katılan toplam personel sayısı ise 184 olmuştur. Araştırmanın sonucunda AR-GE birimlerinde görevli öğretmenlerin eğitim araştırmalarına yönelik olumlu tutum içinde oldukları, eğitim araştırmalarının gerekliliği ve eğitim araştırmalarının uygulanabilirliği boyutlarında yüksek, eğitim araştırmalarına değer verme boyutunda ise çok yüksek düzeylerde olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bilimsel araştırma kavramına yönelik en fazla ürettikleri metaforun ışık metaforu olduğu, AR-GE birimlerindeki öğretmenlerin bilimsel araştırmayı insan hayatına yol gösteren ve rehber rolü ile zihinlerine yerleştirdikleri, araştırmacı öğretmen kavramına yönelik en fazla ürettikleri metaforun arı metaforu olduğu, AR-GE birimindeki öğretmenlerin araştırmacı öğretmeni daha çok meraklı olma ile zihinlerine yerleştirdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın son bölümünde ise AR-GE birimlerinde görevli öğretmenlerin eğitim araştırmalarına yönelik olumlu tutumlarının iyi değerlendirilerek milli eğitim müdürlükleri ile üniversiteler arasında iletişim kanalları oluşturulmasında işe koşulması önerilmiştir.
