An Interdisciplinary Analysis of the 8th Grade Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism Textbook

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı 8. Sınıf T.C. İnkılap Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük ders kitabının disiplinlerarası bakış açısıyla incelenmesidir. Disiplinlerarası yaklaşım bireylere farklı alanlarla ilişkili bilgileri bir araya getirme olanağı sağlamasının yanında eleştirel düşünme, yorumlama, değerlendirme ve ilişki kurma gibi becerileri kazandırmaktadır. Birey bu yaklaşımla beraber karşılaştığı problemi farklı bakış açılarıyla çözme becerisi kazanmaktadır. 19. yüzyıldan itibaren gelişen insanlık tarihinin sadece siyasi olaylardan oluşmadığı, dolayısıyla tarihin sosyal, kültürel, toplumsal ve ekonomik boyutlarıyla ele alınması gerekliliği tarih disiplininin disiplinlerarası yapısından kaynaklanmaktadır. Tarihi diğer disiplinlerden ayrı tutmakla tarih biliminin gelişimini sağlamak mümkün değildir. Bu sebeple çalışmada T.C. İnkılap Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük ders kitabı içeriklerinin farklı disiplinlerin kazanımlarıyla ilişkisi ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Nitel araştırma deseninin benimsendiği bu çalışmada araştırmanın bulguları doküman incelemesi tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre; 8. sınıf T.C. İnkılap Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük ders kitabının 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 ve 7. öğrenme alanlarında yer alan içerikler Türkçe, Sosyal bilgiler ve Görsel Sanatlar dersleriyle ilişkilendirilmiştir. Ek olarak 4. öğrenme alanı içerikleri Beden Eğitimi ve Spor, Müzik ve Fen Bilimleri dersleri ile ilişkilendirilmiştir.The purpose of the present study was to examine the 8th Grade Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism Textbook from an interdisciplinary perspective. The interdisciplinary approach provides individuals with the opportunity to combine information on different fields, as well as acquiring skills such as critical thinking, interpretation, evaluation and relationship building. Based on this approach, the individual acquires the ability to solve the problem faced from different perspectives. The fact that the history of humanity, which has developed since the 19th century, does not consist only of political events, and the necessity of dealing with history with its social, cultural, social and economic dimensions emerges from the interdisciplinary structure of the discipline of history. It is not possible to ensure the development of the science of history by keeping history separate from other disciplines. For this reason, the relationship between the contents of the Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism Textbooks with the acquisitions of different disciplines was uncovered in the present study. The findings of the study were collected with the Document Analysis Technique and were analyzed with the Content Analysis Technique. According to the findings obtained in the study, the contents in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th learning fields of the 8th grade Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism Textbook are associated with Turkish, Social Sciences and Visual Arts. Also, the content of the 4th learning area was associated with Physical Education and Sports, Music and Science courses.
