Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı 1, 2, 3 ve 4. sınıf düzeyindeki okuma güçlüğü olan ilkokul öğrencilerinin okuma tutumunu, okuma motivasyonunu ve okuma becerilerini, öğrencilerin cinsiyeti, sınıf düzeyi, anne-baba eğitim düzeyi, ailenin ekonomik geliri, öğretmenlerin cinsiyeti ve öğrenim düzeyi değişkenleri açısından incelemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılacaktır. Bu araştırma 221K143 kodlu TÜBİTAK 1001 projesi kapsamında, pilot çalışma ile elde edilen ilk veriler kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Türkiye genelinde okuma güçlüğü olan ve olmayan 1, 2, 3 ve 4. sınıfa devam eden öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerini toplamak için amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Toplamda 517 öğrenciden elde edilen veriler araştırmada kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Okumaya Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği, İlkokul Öğrencileri Motivasyon Ölçeği ve Müfredat Temelli Okuma Becerisini Değerlendirme Metinleri kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre, okuma güçlüğü olan öğrenciler ile okuma güçlüğü olmayan öğrencilerin okuma tutumları ve motivasyonları incelendiğinde, okuma tutumu açısından farklılık olurken, motivasyonunun risk açısından farklılaşmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Okuma güçlüğü olan öğrencilerin okuma tutumu ile okuma motivasyonu arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı düzeyde ilişki olduğu sonucu elde edilmiştir. Okuma güçlüğü olan öğrencilerin okuma tutumu toplam puanları ile okuma becerisi toplam puanları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkiye ulaşılamamıştır. Okuma güçlüğü olan öğrencilerin okuma tutumu cinsiyete göre farklılaşmamıştır. Okuma tutumu ile öğretmenin cinsiyeti arasında anlamlı düzeyde ilişki bulunmamıştır. Okuma güçlüğü olmayan öğrenciler açısından ise cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi ve öğretmenin cinsiyetine göre okuma tutumu ve okuma motivasyonu ile anlamlı düzeyde ilişkinin olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre, farklı sınıf düzeyleri ve okuma güçlüğü tanısı almış bireyler ile çalışmalar yapılması önerilmektedir.
The aim of this study is to examine the reading attitudes, reading motivation and reading skills of primary school students with reading difficulties at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade levels in terms of the variables of students' gender, grade level, parents' education level, family economic income, teachers' gender and education level. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, will be used in the study. This research was conducted within the scope of TUBITAK 1001 project coded 221K143, using the initial data obtained through a pilot study. The study group of the research consists of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students with and without reading difficulties throughout Turkey. Purposive sampling method was used to collect the research data. The data obtained from a total of 517 students were used in the study. The research data were obtained by using Personal Information Form, Attitude Towards Reading Scale, Primary School Students' Motivation Scale and Curriculum-Based Reading Skill Assessment Texts. According to the findings of the study, when the reading attitudes and motivation of students with reading difficulties and students without reading difficulties were examined, it was concluded that while there was a difference in terms of reading attitude, motivation did not differ in terms of risk. It was concluded that there was a significant positive relationship between reading attitude and reading motivation of students with reading difficulties. There was no significant relationship between the total scores of reading attitude and total scores of reading skills of students with reading difficulties. The reading attitude of students with reading difficulties did not differ according to gender. There was no significant relationship between reading attitude and the gender of the teacher. In terms of students without reading disabilities, it was concluded that there was no significant relationship between reading attitude and reading motivation according to gender, grade level and teacher's gender. According to the results of the study, it is recommended to conduct studies with different grade levels and individuals diagnosed with reading difficulties.
