Abstract
Developments in information and communication technologies are important for the accessibility, sharing, and speed of access to information. Consumers have access to technological tools and the Internet, which have high access to information and facilitate access to information. This tendency has come to the forefront even in traditional activities such as reading newspapers, and these tools and the internet have become an indispensable part of life. This situation requires businesses to adopt and use technology while forcing the companies to strive to achieve competitive advantage by taking risks and incurring costs related to the use of technology. Today's consumers, who are intertwined with technology, use more than one tool at the same time as a result of marketing efforts. In the most known example of this behaviour, known as second screen use, viewers use tools such as laptops, tablet PCs, or smartphones at the same time to perform some experiences with the effect of marketing efforts on TV. In this study, it is aimed at examining the second-screen usage of TV viewers under the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology. According to the results of the linear regression analysis of the data collected from 390 participants with the help of the prepared questionnaire, it has been seen that performance expectancy, social impact, hedonic motivation, and habit variables, which are among the dimensions of technology acceptance, are effective on the second screen usage behaviour of consumersIn addition, the effect of content reliability on the intention to use the second screen was detected. Another important result of the research is the finding that facilitation conditions and habits can affect consumers' intentions to use the second screen in a way that transforms it into actual use. Finally, the existence of a relationship between intention to use and actual use of the second screen is detected. All these results are expected to contribute to the literature and future studies on the second screen.
