Abstract
Gender is a prevalent criterion in contemporary market segmentation. Market division based on gender in diverse product categories is primarily rooted in societal perceptions of "gender" rather than individuals' biological genders. However, the insufficient exploration of societal gender stereotypes concerning visual communication elements in products is evident compared to the topic's significance. Addressing this gap, this research, utilizing quantitative methods, examines the impact of visual communication elements in products on consumer perceptions and purchasing behavior within the context of gender. A survey, involving both direct and indirect measurements (third-person technique), collected data from 715 participants through convenience sampling. Results indicate that consumers heavily rely on societal gender stereotypes when assessing visual communication elements, revealing their influence on purchasing preferences. The study's findings offer crucial insights for segmentation, positioning, and marketing communication strategies.
