Maymun Çiçeği Virüsünün Acil Durum Yönetimi Açısından Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Geçmişten günümüze birçok salgın olayının yaşandığı ve bu salgınların toplum üzerinde çeşitli etkilerinin olduğu bilinmektedir. Yapılan bu çalışmada Mayıs 2022 tarihinden itibaren görülmeye başlayan maymun çiçeği virüsüne ilişkin vaka durumlarının ve konuya ilişkin toplumsal eğilimlerin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada verilerinin elde edildiği tarihe kadar en fazla vaka bildiren ülkenin Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, en fazla tweet atılan zamanın 21:00-21:59 saatleri arası, en fazla tweet atılan günün perşembe olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Atılan tweetlerin %43,5’nin nötr ve %32,4’ünün kısmen pozitif içerikli olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak 2022 yılında tekrardan kendisini gösteren maymun çiçeği virüsünün bir tehdit olarak algılanmasının ve gerekli tedbirlerin alınmasının yerinde olacağı söylenebilir. Kullanıcıların en fazla tweet attığı dönemlerin tespit edilmesi, yetkililer tarafından yapılacak uyarı mesajlarının zamanlaması ve etkileşim yönünden yönetilmesi açısından değerli olabilir. Eğitim faaliyetleri ve yetkililer tarafından düzenli bilgi aktarımı, hastalığın yönetimi ve kontrolü için kritik öneme sahiptir. Bu tür salgın olaylarında, ilgili kurum ve kuruluşların, sivil toplum kuruluşlarının ve toplumun iş birliği içinde hareket etmesi ve toplumsal yönetim stratejilerinin uygulanması, yaşanan durumlarla başa çıkmada önemlidir.It is known that many epidemics have occurred from past to present and that these epidemics have various effects on society. This study aimed to determine the case status and social trends regarding the monkeypox virus, which has started to be seen since May 2022. In the study, it was determined that the country that reported the most cases until the date of data collection was the United States of America, the most tweeted time was between 21:00 and 21:59, and the most tweeted day was Thursday. It was determined that 43.5% of the tweets were neutral and 32.4% were partially positive. As a result, it can be said that it would be appropriate to perceive the monkeypox virus, which reappears in 2022, as a threat and to take the necessary precautions. Determining the periods when users tweet the most can be valuable in terms of timing the warning messages to be made by the authorities and managing them in terms of interaction. Education activities and regular information transfer by the authorities are of critical importance for the management and control of the disease. In such epidemic events, it is important for the relevant institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations and the society to act in cooperation and to implement social management strategies in coping with the situations experienced.
