Abstract
This research aims to determine the amateur violin education practices and the problems experienced in this field, in accordance with the opinions of the students receiving amateur violin education and the instructors and teachers who provide this education. The research was conducted with the Survey model, which is a type of Descriptive Research. One group of 25 teachers and one group of 25 students from various provinces in our Eastern Black Sea Region consist of the study group of the research. The data of the research have been collected with opinion-taking forms. Opinion-taking forms; have been prepared separately for the students and for the teachers regarding the application and the problems in the amateur violin education. The following major findings were obtained from the research. Violin education teachers mostly determine the proficiency levels and goals of the education process themselves. The most important problems experienced by the teachers are the problems such as not attending the education processes regularly and not achieving the desired results which are caused by the comfort of the education to be amateur. Teachers use 'Studying by dividing the work into parts' technique, 'Looking at the whole work and supporting it with visual images and symbols technique (shape, colour, word, image, etc.)', 'Making the students make the solfeggio of the work technique', 'using encouragement, hints and reinforcement technique', 'Realizing mistakes and correcting them technique' and 'Demonstrating the necessary playing techniques with examples technique' as the teaching methods and techniques. Teachers mainly use a combination of 'Ömer CAN Violin Education', 'Suzuki' and 'Hans SİTT' violin methods. Teachers mostly pointed out two basic problems: 'rhythm disruptions' and 'lack of note-solfeggio knowledge'. The techniques that teachers have the most problems with regarding basic playing techniques are respectively; 'Hand and finger positions', 'Speed and Nuance Terms', 'Vibrato technique', 'Basic stance position', 'Staccato technique', 'Scale and arpeggio technique', 'Pizzicato technique' and then 'legato', 'tremelo' ' and 'portato' techniques. The dominant purpose of students receiving amateur (Özengen) Violin Education is that they love the violin as an instrument and they love playing the violin. Students mainly take this course between 2 and 4 hours a week, and they consider this course time to be largely sufficient for themselves. While There are problems such as 'Posture and grip problems', 'Getting too excited while playing in front of the teacher', 'Not being able to play fluently enough', 'Loss of motivation in case the desired development is not achieved' among the general problems experienced by students in classes It was identified that the most common problems in terms of basic playing techniques are 'Basic stance position', 'Hand and finger positions', 'Speed and Nuance Terms', 'Vibrato', 'Legato', 'Portato' and 'Staccato' techniques.
