Abstract

Dinler tarihinin yakın ilişki içerisinde olduğu disiplinlerin başında arkeoloji gelmektedir. Kitab-ı Mukaddes arkeolojisi, bu iki disiplinin ortak çalışmasını ifadeetmektedir. Kitab-ı Mukaddes arkeolojisi, Kitab-ı Mukaddes’in sunduğu bilgilerinarkeoloji bilimi ile karşılaştırılması ve yorumlanması üzerine durmaktadır. Kitabı Mukaddes arkeolojisi, özellikle 19. yüzyıldan sonra gelişme gösteren Kitab-ıMukaddes araştırmaları içerisinde önemli bir yer edinmiştir. Son iki yüz yıldır Filistin, Mısır, Ürdün, Türkiye, Suriye ve Irak gibi bölgelerde yoğunlaşan kazı çalışmaları bu disiplinin gelişmesini sağlamıştır. Ancak Kitab-ı Mukaddes’te geçenbilgilerin arkeolojik veriler ile test edilmesi zamanla her iki disiplin arasında bazımetodolojik tartışmalar meydana getirmiştir. Çünkü böyle bir doğrulamanın gereksizliğini savunanlar kadar, Kitab-ı Mukaddes’in tarihsel verilere uygun olupolmadığını test etmenin gerekli olduğunu ileri süren araştırmacılar da vardır. Bumakalede Kitab-ı Mukaddes arkeolojisinin ortaya çıkışı, bu disiplinin Kitab-ı Mukaddes çalışmalarındaki önemi, tarihte dikkat çeken keşifler ve metodolojik tartışmalara yer verilmektedir.
Archaeology is one of the most important disciplines which closely relates with the history of religions. Biblical archaeology means corporate work of these two disciplines. Biblical archaeology focuses on the comparison and interpretation of the information provided by the Bible with archaeology. Biblical archeology has gained an important place especially in the Bible studies which developed after the 19th century. Excavations performed especially in Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Syria and Iraq, have enhanced on the development of this discipline in the West for the last two hundred years. However, the fact that the information in the Bible comparing has revealed some methodological debates between the two disciplines. While some researchers have argued that it is necessary to compare whether the Bible was compatible with historical data, some of them assert that this comparing is unnecessary. This article includes the emergence of Biblical archaeology, the importance of this discipline in Biblical studies, remarkable discoveries in history and methodological debates.
