Aday Öğretmenlere Yönelik Düzenlenen Bir E-Mentorluk Programının Etkililiğinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an e-mentoring program for the professional and psychosocial development of novice teachers. The literature indicates that prospective teachers experience problems in the early years of their careers, which a nominee program is designed to address. It is known that this nomination program has similarities with the mentoring program. In this research, e-mentoring was applied, one of the types of mentoring that offers participants independence of time and place. The aim is to investigate the contribution of the e-mentoring process for prospective teachers (mentee) and experienced teachers (mentor) in their professional and psychosocial development. The study was performed using the mixed method. The study group consists of experienced teachers (mentors) and teacher trainees (mentees) with at least five years of professional experience in secondary education. 34 mentees and 23 mentor teachers participated in the PEEMP process. Data for the study were collected using a structured interview form, a questionnaire, and a semi-structured interview. Novice and experienced teachers indicated that the e-mentoring process contributed to their professional and psychosocial development.Bu çalışmanın amacı aday öğretmenlerin mesleki ve kişisel gelişimlerine yönelik bir e-mentorluk programının etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesidir. Aday öğretmenlerin mesleğin ilk yıllarında sorunlar yaşadıkları ve sorunların ortadan kaldırılması için adaylık programı uygulandığı alanyazında belirtilmektedir. Bu adaylık programının mentorluk programıyla benzerliklere sahip olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu araştırmada mentorluk türlerinden olan, katılımcılara zaman ve mekân bağımsızlığı sunan e-mentorluk uygulanmıştır. Yapılan e-mentorluk sürecinin etkililiğinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma karma yönteme uygun olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu, ortaokul düzeyindeki branşlarda görev yapmakta olan en az beş yıllık tecrübesi bulunan deneyimli öğretmenler (mentor) ve aday öğretmenlerden (menti) oluşmaktadır. AÖEMP sürecine 34 menti ve 23 mentor öğretmen katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, yapılandırılmış görüşme formu, anket ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Aday öğretmenler ve tecrübeli öğretmenler e-mentorluk sürecinin kendilerine mesleki ve kişisel açıdan katkı sağladığını belirtmektedir.
