Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the experiences and perspectives of students participating in the Erasmus+ Program, specifically within the realm of music education offered by the faculty of education in Turkey. The study also explores the insights of program coordinators who guide students through this process, utilizing qualitative research methods. The research employed the interview technique as part of a qualitative data collection approach. Two distinct questionnaires were utilized: the Erasmus+ Questionnaire (ESF), comprising 10 open-ended questions developed by the researcher based on expert opinions for student participants, and the Erasmus Questionnaire for Coordinators (KESF), which included 12 open-ended questions for academic coordinators, also developed through expert input. The ESF was distributed online to 28 voluntary students who had participated in the Erasmus+ program, while 11 volunteer academicians, serving as Erasmus coordinators for the music teaching program in the faculty of education, participated in the KESF. The qualitative data gathered sought the opinions and thoughts of both students and program coordinators on the Erasmus+ program. Subsequently, the data underwent analysis using the descriptive analysis method, a qualitative research approach, and the findings were presented in tabular form. This study holds significance in guiding students within the music education department of the faculty of education who contemplate participating in the Erasmus+ program. Moreover, it contributes a novel perspective to the existing literature. The research findings indicate that students from the music education department, engaging in the Erasmus+ program abroad, develop a broader outlook on life, encounter diverse cultures and individuals, acquire international experience, and enhance their proficiency in foreign languages and music education.
