Abstract

The Holy Quran is the universal message to humanity that Allah revealed via His last messenger and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) through the language and cultural life of the Arabic society. Of course, it is possible to justify the fact that the first interlocutor of the Qur'an is the Arabs of the society. As a matter of fact, it is reported in the Qur'an that the prophets who speak their own language are sent to each society by marking this situation. On the other hand, since the Qur'an is the last divine message, the teachings it contains have a universal character, which makes it necessary for the language and society that make it accessible to all interlocutors. In this context, Ibn Ashur draws attention to the characteristics of the first interlocutor society which fully transmits the Arabic language and the divine kalam to the next generations by completely obeying the will of God which is not limited to time and space. In this article, these features that Ibn Ashur dwells on will be examined and it will be tried to reveal that the message of the Qur'an has universal qualities in both the language in which it is spoken and the society in which it receives the first addressed.
