Abstract
Islamic societies of the 21st century have spent the last two centuries looking for ways of adapting itself to the capitalism and thus to the market economy. In the historical process, considering the distribution of Muslim social geography in the world, it is understood that the trade and market experience of Islamic societies has been different in every period. This study firstly touches upon the theories of the Islamic economy that have marked the last sixty years on a global scale and then it aims to analyze the theoretical/methodological problems of an Islamic economic understanding within the market conditions. Again in this research, it is intended to resolve the sociological situation of both the Muslim merchants and the society in which they live within the capitalist economic conditions.
