Abstract
This thesis comprehensively examines the relationship between preservice teachers' psychological resilience levels and their sensitivity to violence against children. The primary premise of the research is the belief that teachers should not only serve as transmitters of knowledge but also be empathetic individuals who are sensitive to and protective of children's rights. In this context, the study aims to evaluate how psychological resilience and sensitivity to violence against children interact with each other. The research was conducted with 220 preservice teachers studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of Erzurum Atatürk University, employing quantitative research methods and a correlational survey model. Data were collected using the 'Brief Resilience Scale' and the 'Sensitivity to Violence Against Children Scale.' The analysis results revealed no statistically significant relationship between psychological resilience levels and sensitivity to violence. However, significant differences were identified in relation to demographic variables such as gender, field of study, engagement in sports activities, and age of initiation into sports. Participants who engaged in sports regularly demonstrated higher levels of psychological resilience and lower levels of sensitivity to violence. Furthermore, female preservice teachers exhibited significantly higher sensitivity to violence against children compared to their male counterparts. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teacher training programs incorporate more practical training focused on psychological resilience and sensitivity to children's rights, as such measures could enhance both the professional competencies of preservice teachers and the level of awareness regarding the protection of children.
