Abstract

The Qur’anî School is a modern approach. However, there are some conf-licts about its origin. This school, which regards the Qur’an as the first source, distants itself from the Sunnah, Islamic schools and the traditional sects. The text-centered school, says that the Qur’an covers everything and opens hereby ways to use ta’wil. The school, -first emerged in the Indian Subcontinent and Egypt in the last century-, found supporters in the Isla-mic world, and was voiced in different tones by various circles. The school, emerged in our country too, in the second half of the 20th century, found its response in different tones from both; civilian and academic commu-nity. Especially in the eighties, was the school advocated by many journals. One of these journals; Kalem Journal, whose publication life continued for a short period of only two years. Therefore, this study aims to analyze this school -found in our country in the 20th century-. It also aims to introduce the Kalem Journal which occupies an important role in the history of Tur-key and analyze its views.
