Türkiye’deki 7. Sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler Ders Kitabında Küreselleşme Olgusunun İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, küreselleşme olgusunun Türkiye’deki 7. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabında nasıl ele alındığını ortaya koymaktır. Bu kapsamda küreselleşmenin 7. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabındaki görsellerde ve içeriklerde nasıl işlendiği, “küresel”, “küreselleşme” ve “evrensel” kelimesinin kitapta ne sıklıkla yer aldığı incelenmiştir. İncelenen kitap 2019 yılında yayınlanan EKOYAY yayıncılığa ait Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabıdır. Araştırmada doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada verilere kontrol listesi kullanılarak ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik ve doküman analizi yoluyla çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre 7. sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler ders kitabında yer alan 240 görselde ve 643 içerikte küreselleşmenin ele alındığı belirlenmiştir. Ders kitabındaki görsel ve içeriklerde küreselleşmenin en çok sosyokültürel en az ise ekonomi boyutunun işlendiği ortaya çıkmıştır. Küreselleşmenin ders kitabında görsel açıdan en çok “Türk Tarihinde Yolculuk” en az ise “Yaşayan Demokrasi” ünitesinde; içerik açısından ise en çok “Türk Tarihinde Yolculuk” en az ise “Ülkemizde Nüfus” ünitesinde ele alındığı tespit edilmiştir. Küreselleşmenin alt boyutları kapsamında ders kitabındaki içeriklerde en çok sosyokültürel, bilim ve teknoloji ile eğitim boyutlarının; görsellerde ise en çok sosyokültürel, bilim ve teknoloji ile siyasi boyutların ele alındığı saptanmıştır. Ders kitabının ünitelerinde “küresel” kelimesinin 51, “evrensel” kelimesinin ise 1 kez geçtiği belirlenmiştir. Küreselleşme olgusu farklı sınıf düzeyindeki kitaplar incelenerek ortaya konulmalıdır. Ayrıca ders kitaplarının içerik ve görsel yönden sosyokültürel boyutta olduğu gibi dikkat çekici ve somutlaştırıcı örneklerle zenginleştirilmesi küreselleşmenin anlaşılması açısından faydalı olacaktır.The purpose of this study is to present how the phenomenon of globalization are discussed in 7th Grade Social Studies textbooks. In this context, how globalization is handled in the visuals and contents of the 7th grade Social Studies textbook, and how often the words "global", "globalization" and "universal" are included in the book were examined. The book analyzed is the Social Studies textbook of EKOYAY publishing published in 2019. Document analysis method was used in the research. The data in the research were reached using the checklist. The obtained data were analyzed through content and document analysis. According to the results obtained from the research, it was determined that globalization was discussed in 240 visuals and 643 contents in the 7th grade Social Studies textbook. It has been revealed that in the visuals and contents of the textbook, the most socio-cultural dimension of globalization and the least economic dimension are discussed. Globalization in the textbook, it has been determined that it is mostly discussed visually in "Journey in Turkish History" and least in the "Living Democracy" unit; In terms of content, in the "Journey in Turkish History" and least in the "Population in Our Country" unit. Within the scope of the sub-dimensions of globalization, it has been determined that the contents of the textbook mostly discuss socio-cultural, science and technology and education dimensions; and visuals mostly discuss socio-cultural, science and technology and political dimensions. It has been determined that the word "global" occurs 51 times and the word "universal" occurs 1 time in the units of the textbook. The phenomenon of globalization should be revealed by examining books at different grade levels. In addition, enriching the textbooks with remarkable and concretizing examples as in the socio-cultural dimension in terms of content and visual aspects will be beneficial for understanding globalization.
